One Step Sparring

WHITE

1 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and middle punch with your right, pull your right hand back to ready position while covering it with your left. Follow with another knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and high punch with your right. Your feet should be parallel to your attacker’s feet.

2 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse while executing a knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and knife hand strike to the attacker’s neck with your right hand. Your feet should be parallel to your attacker’s feet. Then grab their neck/shoulder with your right hand and their arm with your left hand. Pull their face down and while bringing your knee up to their face.

3 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance then step across the attacker’s right leg with your right leg, at the same time doing an outside-inside block with your right arm (blocking their punch). Turn to your left (do not move your feet) elbow to the midsection.

4 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand. Then step between your attacker’s legs with your right foot and with your right arm, elbow strike to the attacker’s right armpit, pull your arm back and then back fist to the attacker’s right temple.

5 – TAKE DOWN – Step out with right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a left outer forearm block to the attacker’s punch. Then step your right leg behind their right leg and reach across their chest with your right arm. Rotate your torso while you sweep their foot and take them down. Kick and punch.

6 – Step out with your left foot into a deep horse stance while executing an open hand pushing block with your left hand. Double middle punch with your right fist first.

7 – Step out with your left foot into a deep horse stance while executing a knife hand block and grab with your right hand to the attacker’s wrist. Grab the attacker’s shoulder with your left hand, putting your thumb in their armpit. Push them down with your left arm then twist their arm above your left arm. Knee them in the chest with your right knee.

YELLOW

1 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and middle punch with your right, pull your right hand back to ready position while covering it with your left. Your feet should be parallel to your attacker’s feet. Follow with another knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and high punch with your right. Grab the attacker’s right wrist while stepping back with your right foot (pulling them towards you) and do a front snap kick to their midsection with your right foot.

2 – Jump to your right to avoid the punch, then do a high traditional jump front snap kick and double middle punch starting with the right fist first.

3 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance then step across the attacker’s right leg with your right leg, at the same time doing an outside-inside block with your right arm (blocking their punch). Turn to your left (do not move your feet) elbow to the midsection. Turn to your left (do not move your feet) elbow to the mid-section. Turn back to the right and elbow strike to the ribs with your right elbow.

4 – Step out with your left foot into a deep horse stance while executing an open hand pushing block with your left hand. Then double middle punch with your right hand first. End with a roundhouse kick to the midsection.

5 – TAKE DOWN – Step out with right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a left outer forearm block to the attacker’s punch. Then grab their wrist with your left hand while you step your right leg behind their right leg and reach under their arm and grab them in the crook of the elbow. (Pressure Point) Pull their elbow down to your side while pushing their wrist back, resulting in them leaning back. Sweep their foot and take them down. Kick and punch.

6 – Step back with your left leg and do a left leg reverse kick.

7 – Step back with your right leg and do a right leg reverse kick.

ORANGE

1 – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and middle punch with your right, pull your right hand back to ready position while covering it with your left. Your feet should be parallel to your attacker’s feet. Follow with another knife hand block to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and high punch with your right. Grab the attacker’s right wrist, step back (to pull them forward) and do a roundhouse kick to the mid-section with your right foot.

2 – Jump to your right to avoid the punch, then do a high traditional jump front snap kick and three punches starting with the right fist first. Two middle and one high.

3 – TAKE DOWN – Step out with your right foot into a deep horse stance then step across the attacker’s right leg with your right leg, at the same time doing an outside-inside block with your right arm (blocking their punch). Turn to your left (do not move your feet) elbow to the mid-section. Turn back to the right and elbow strike to the ribs with your right elbow. Then grab their wrist with your left hand while grabbing the front of their shoulder with your right hand, placing your thumb in their armpit, and stretching their arm out. Push them over your hip, taking them to the floor. Kick and punch.

4 – Step out with your left foot into a deep horse stance while executing an open hand pushing block with your left hand. Punch three times starting with the right fist first, two middle punches and one high. End with a roundhouse kick to the midsection.

5 – TAKE DOWN – Step out with right foot into a deep horse stance while executing a left outer forearm block to the attacker’s punch. Then step your right leg behind their right while you reach under their arm and bring your right first down on their elbow causing it to bend. Lock the back of your fists together. Sweep their foot and take them down. Kick and punch.

6 – Step back with your left leg and do a left leg wheel kick.

7 – Step back with your right leg and do a right leg wheel kick.

GREEN

1 – Knife hand block (to the attacker’s punch) with your left hand and middle punch with your right, followed by knife hand block (to the attacker’s punch with your left hand and high punch with your right. Your feet should be parallel to your attacker’s feet. Grab the attacker’s right wrist, step back (to pull them forward) and do a front snap kick middle and a roundhouse kick high with your right foot.

2 – TAKE DOWN – Knife hand block (to the attacker’s punch) with your left hand. Reach behind the attacker’s jaw (with your right hand), on the right side, just below the ear. Push the pressure point and push them down, then to the left dropping them to the floor. Kick and punch.

3 – TAKE DOWN – Step out with the right foot as you reach across your body and grab the attacker’s right wrist with your right hand. Raise their hand and turn counterclockwise and back under their right arm. You should end up behind them. Bend their right arm behind their back and kick their right knee forward taking them to the ground.

4 – Left leg crescent kick (to block punch), right leg roundhouse kick high.

5 – Right leg crescent kick (to block punch), left leg roundhouse kick high.

6 – Step back with your left leg and do a left leg jump reverse kick.

7 – Step back with your right leg and do a right leg jump reverse kick.
